Introduction to RPM Packaging

This 2-hour training session, sponsored by the U-M Satellite Users Community, is designed to introduce participants to the process of creating Redhat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) RPM packages. Topics will include:

  • Setting up the packaging environment.
  • Gathering what is needed to build the software RPM.
  • Creating or changing the spec file.
  • Building the RPM.
  • Signing the RPM.
