Will Styler is joining the Michigan Linguistics community this week. He will be working as a post-doc with Pam Beddor and Andries Coetzee, funded through their joint NSF grant (on which we had reported here before). Will just finished his PhD in Linguistics at the University of Colorado, Boulder, with a dissertation titled "On the Acoustical and Perceptual Features of Vowel Nasality" (available here). During his time at Michigan, Will will be involved in several projects investigating the relationship between the perception and production of coarticulated speech (including two projects on vowel nasalization for which his dissertation research will be very relevant!). Welcome to Michigan, Will!
