Robin Queen and Andries Coetzee were both inducted as fellows of the Linguistic Society of America at the January Annual Meeting, held in Portland, Oregon. Per the bylaws of the LSA,    "[m]embers of the Society who have made distinguished contributions to the discipline may, on recommendation of the Executive Committee, be recognized as Fellows of the Society". The total number of LSA fellows is limited to no more than 5% of the membership of the LSA, making induction as fellow a significant honor. Robin and Andries join Sally Thomason, who has been an LSA fellow since 2006. Our Department is one of only a small number of Linguistics Departments with more than one fellow - a testament to the contribution of our Department to the field of linguistics.
