Claire Fox (University of Iowa) comes to campus

Claire Fox (University of Iowa), Associate Professor of English, Spanish, and Portuguese at the University of Iowa speaks on "Latin/o American Visual Art + Cultural Policy Under Neoliberalism."

The Border Collective is a group of graduate students and faculty at the University of Michigan that meets regularly to discuss the ways that art and politics intersect in cultural production related to physical and metaphorical borders. Although this group began in 2010 by focusing specifically on the U.S.-Mexico border, this year we are interested in broadening our focus to consider borders and spaces of all kinds, from the geopolitical to the interpersonal. Our meetings will also include an exploration of what we mean when we talk about borders, frontiers, and spaces. For further information contact Orquidea Morales @ obmora@umich.edu.
