This project will adapt a web-based application capable of producing 2d and 3d data visualizations to an historical lake data set in order to help students understand important concepts about interacting variables, such as temperature and oxygen or nutrients and algae. The goal is a hands-on, at-a-glance view of vertical conditions inside a lake that change under user control from week to week and year to year. The teaching product will be a web-based exercise that accompanies case study examples in a course for non-science majors.
