We will use GoPro cameras and their supporting video-editing software, to provide supporting video for experiential learning in the field (documentation of earth surface features, materials and spatial relationships). In this project we will pilot the development of deploying GoPro camera mounts (on people and by quad-copter and weather balloon) for documenting field experiences in an introductory geology class (EARTH 116), and uploading this video documentation to the course website (intranet site at Camp Davis) for access by students for projects and exams. If successful, the implementation of field video documentation would be available to other classes with field components.
