The goal of this proposal is to modify radically the structure and dynamics in the RC 194 Spanish Intensive I lectures (40 lectures) through the use of PowerPoint so as to enhance the efficiency, clarity and visual engagement in the daily presentation of class material. Power Point's versatility in integrating language and culture via text, image, audio and video at different stages allows for a seamless transition between linguistic explanations and multiple, non-linear cultural contexts for practice. Multimedia materials will include a wide range of authentic artistic, geographical, literary and sociopolitical sources.
