I use visual images as an integral part of my teaching and I find that the slides I show in class open the conversation and bring students into analytical discussions in ways that textual material simply cannot approach. In the field of early Russian history, few useful images are available on the web. For that reason I have relied on my own slide collection up till now. I plan to scan the slides and make them available to students on a website as well as through classroom presentations, thus making them an even more integral and usable aspect of the courses.
