Financial Support


Admitted students are guaranteed a package of financial funding which provides full support (covering tuition and fees), stipends for each fall and winter semester, comprehensive health insurance, and limited financial assistance (at least $2,500 annually) for approved summer projects.

Every student receives some Fellowship support and teaches as a Graduate Student Instructor (GSI) for at least two semesters in the course of their time in the Program. All IPCAA students receive full Fellowship support throughout their first year in the Program. Subject to satisfactory progress through the Program (as assessed by the faculty), students at present receive support for six years or until the completion of their dissertation — whichever comes first.

Funding details vary greatly according to individual circumstances — hence the brevity of these general remarks. But here are two examples of how the overall pattern of funding might look in actual cases:
