Related Units and Programs

The creation of the Doctoral Program in Anthropology and History institutionalized a set of relationships and dialogues between faculty in the departments of Anthropology and of History. The interdisciplinary program also has strong links to several other University of Michigan programs including Afroamerican and African Studies, Asian Languages & Cultures, Comparative Literature, Near Eastern Studies, Sociology, Women's Studies, the area centers of the International Institute, the Institute for the Humanities, the Institute for Research on Women and Gender, as well as the professional schools.  The program also enjoys a synergy with public presentations and discussions of work that appears in the journal Comparative Studies in Society and History, in which many of our graduates publish.
