The first money in a commercial or nonprofit venture is unique. Known as “Angel” investing and popularized by the TV show Shark Tank (logo pictured), angel investing provides a critical step forward for new ideas to have a chance to blossom. Apple and Facebook are examples of companies founded by people interested in the liberal arts that used angel investments in their early years.

Steve Chapman is Chairman of Ancor Information Management, CFO of Night & Day Studios and active in early stage venture investing. He graduated with a BA in History and Economics and serves on our Honors Alumni Council. Come for a fascinating discussion of early-stage investing what it means for ventures of all kinds in America today and in the future.
