German Day is an annual event of competitions and fun for middle and high school German students sponsored by U-M's Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures.
2017 German Day: Friday, March 10, 2017
This year’s theme, Jugend, is a topic we are interpreting broadly. As you prepare for the competition, we encourage you to explore the importance of various Jugendbewegungen (Wandervögel, Weiße Rose, Studentenbewegungen) and Jugendkulturen (Halbstarke, Punker, Rapper). You may also find inspiration in Jugend als Motiv (in Literatur, Musik, Kunst). And surely there are additional dimensions that you and your students will come up with.
Here is an outstanding set of articles about Jugendkulturen:

Register online January 13 - February 24, 2017
We've added two new events this year: Sing-along Videos and Zines. See our events page for more details.
