Venkat Dhulipala at his October 29 lecture.

Venkat Dhulipala continued the Eisenberg Institute's 2015-16 programs on October 29 with his lecture, "Longing for a New Medina: State Power, Islam, and the Struggle for Pakistan in Late Colonial North India." Dhulipala is an associate professor in the Department of History at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

Professor Dhulipala's talk is available online as an MP3 audio file to University of Michigan account holders (link here to access).

On October 30, the Institute held the symposium, "Longing in a Global Context," featuring Venkat Dhulipala, Sarah Garibova, Leslie Hempson, and Hillina Seife; the session was chaired by Kali Israel.

These events were made possible by a generous contribution from Kenneth and Frances Aftel Eisenberg.
