Elizabeth Edwards, Research Professor of Photographic History and Director of the Photographic History Research Centre at De Montfort University, discussed the use of photographs in historical scholarship in her March 27 lecture for the Eisenberg Institute for Historical Studies. Her talk, "Folded in Time: Thoughts on a Photograph Album," focused on the use of images to understand the historical imagination of a particular era. The event continued the Institute's 2013-15 theme, "Materials of History." Professor Edwards' lecture is available online as an MP3 audio file and is accessible for University of Michigan account holders.

On March 28, graduate students Tara Dosumu Diener and Rachel Miller presented the workshop, "Staging History Within the Margins of a Photograph." Professor Anne Berg chaired.
