The Eisenberg Institute will offer fellowship opportunities for University of Michigan Department of History faculty, graduate students, and recent PhDs for the 2016-17 academic year.

Deadlines and notification vary according to fellowship type. Categories include:

  • Faculty Fellowships: Release from teaching one Department of History course along with a $2,500 research grant; up to four fellows. Applications due February 8, 2016.
  • Graduate Student Research Fellowships: $5,000 research grant; up to six fellows. Applications due March 7, 2016.
  • Postdoctoral Fellowship: $43,500 salary, full benefits, and $2,000 research fund; includes two-course teaching obligation; one fellow. Applications due April 4, 2016.

All fellows are expected to actively participate in Institute programs and events. The Institute's fellowship programs have been made possible by a generous contribution from Kenneth and Frances Aftel Eisenberg.
