Meet in Kraus Natural Sciences parking lot to carpool to the Haehnle Bird Sanctuary

We're organizing a birdwatching event for the department and you're invited. Sandhill cranes gather this time of year before their southward migration, and the Haehnle bird sanctuary is a great place to see them. There should be plenty of other bird species as well. The sanctuary is about 40 minutes west of Ann Arbor.

We're looking for drivers with personal vehicles to help with carpooling. For those participating in carpooling, let's meet at the Kraus parking lot on Sunday, October 26 at 3:45 p.m. Vehicles will leave at 4 p.m. sharp. If you aren't carpooling, you can meet us directly at the sanctuary at ~ 4:45 p.m. The best time to see cranes is just before dusk. We should be back in Ann Arbor by 7:30 or 8 p.m., if not earlier.

Please RSVP by 5 p.m. Oct. 22 to let us know you'd like to come and if you need a ride. RSVP by answering this survey.

Bring binoculars, your families, significant others, and weather-appropriate clothing.

Hope to see you there! Don't forget to RSVP,
