Workshop on Geophilosophy

Friday, November 1, 2013
12:00 AM
3512 Haven Hall

As part of the DIG's Material Encounters: An Interdisciplinary Series, Dr. Keith Woodward, from University of Wisconsin - Madison, will be holding a graduate student workshop on "Geophilosophy"

The workshop will touch upon geophilosophy as method/practice for approaching the elements and phenomena of thought as grounded in the ever fluid relationship between territory and earth. Can geophilosophy help us engage the materiality of social, political, ecological, economic, spatial and microcosmic processes? The readings for the workshop are two essays by Gilles Deleuze and FĂ©lix Guattari: "Geophilosophy" and "1933: Micropolitics and Segmentarity."

If you are interested in taking part of the workshop, please RSVP (required) to ichaar@umich.edu by October 25, 2013.
