Research Seminar with Haiping Yang: Chinese Women Writers and the Feminist Imagination

In this research seminar, Haiping Yan will discuss two pre-circulated chapters from her book, Chinese Women Writers and the Feminist Imagination 1905-1948 (Routledge 2006). This book re-visits the legacies of the Chinese revolution, to tell a different "China story."

Below are the two chapters for discussion: “Rhythms of the Unreal [I]: Ding Ling's Feminist Passage," and "Rhythms of the Unreal [II] the Ding Ling Story and the Chinese Revolution."  Hard copies are available for photocopying at the Center for Chinese Studies.  For further information about the seminar please contact Carrie Baker mscarrie@umich.edu 

 

Haiping Yan is Professor of Theatre & Cultural Theory at Cornell University and holds a Zijiang Chair Professorship in the Arts and Humanistic Studies at East China Normal University in Shanghai.
