Carol A. Fierke: ACS Award for Encouraging Women into Careers in the Chemical Sciences,sponsored by the Camille & Henry Dreyfus Foundation. The award recognizes significant accomplishments by individuals who have stimulated or fostered the interest of women in chemistry, promoting their professional developments as chemists or chemical engineers. It consists of $5,000 and a certificate. A grant of $10,000 will be made to an academic institution, designated by the recipient, to strengthen its activities in meeting the objectives of the award. Up to $1,500 for travel expenses to the meeting at which the award will be presented will be reimbursed. The Women Chemists Committee of the American Chemical Society will organize the award address.
Vincent L. Pecoraro: ACS Award for Distinguished Service in the Advancement of Inorganic Chemistry, sponsored by Strem Chemicals. The award recognizes individuals who advanced inorganic chemistry by significant service in addition to performance of outstanding research. The award consists of $5,000 and a certificate. Up to $1,000 for travel expenses to the meeting at which the award will be presented will be reimbursed.
The awardees will be honored in March 2016 at the annual meeting in San Diego, California. American Chemical Society offers awards in support of research in the chemical sciences as a means for recognizing achievements and encouraging future progress.
