Phase 1: Members

Once students have joined the program they enter the first phase of work with the BLI and become novice members of our campus-wide community. BLI Members can choose to take part in many of our events and workshops and are eligible to apply for BLI Small Grant funding. Activities for Institute Members include:

Community Events : Activities designed and implemented by Senior Fellows to introduce, integrate, and engage members of the BLI Community

BLI Habit Workshops: Ten BLI Habits enable effective leadership in all situations, regardless of whether one holds formal authority. Each workshop will introduce students to a Habit through case studies and exercises that allow them to learn the Habit through practice.

Leadership Labs: This 7-week long Applied Liberal Arts class guides students through a small project from idea generation and team formation through execution.

After successfully completing a Leadership Lab, students move out of the Members phase and become Fellows.
