Biophysics NMR Center

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy

Biophysics has a wide variety of biomolecular NMR instruments that are available via our recharge centers.  Any University or other external researchers are welcome to investigate how this technology can help further their research goals.

New UM NMR Users:

All new UM users who wish to use the Biophysics NMR spectrometers must first complete the User Information Form to request to use the NMR Center.  You will be contacted for an initial consultation (no charge) and scheduled to receive training.

                  Internal Users Information Form (UM)

After successful completion of the training, your Kerberos UMich ID will be given access for you to log into the NMR computers.  Users can request assistance in initially setting up their experimental runs, or if experienced, can set up and acquire the NMR data for themselves.  Please see the schedule of rates for consultation and assistance costs, and contact the NMR Center staff to schedule NMR time.

New Non-UM NMR Users:

All new external users (non-UM) who wish to use the Biophysics NMR Center as self-users or with partial/full-service assistance should first complete the External Users Information Form below.  You will be contacted for an initial consultation (no charge).  Once you have been approved as a user, samples requiring technician assistance can be submitted along with the Sample Submission & Billing Form below.

The Biomolecular NMR Facility is the home of 2 Varian NMR and 2 Bruker spectrometers operating in the range of 500-800 MHz for high resolution NMR studies and 2 Varian Solid State NMR spectrometers for solid samples.
Select the link for each spectrometer to see detailed descriptions with types of available probes/accessories.
