Job Description Work as a part-time laboratory technician and assist other lab members (graduate students and postdocs) with preparing reagents, solutions and buffers; isolate DNA, set up PCRs and run agarose gels. Do general lab maintenance work (preparing glass ware, autoclave glassware, instruments and solutions), organize incoming reagents and prepare FedEx packages.
Educational Value Experience to work in a research team, learn basic lab skills, contribute to a research project, and interact with graduate students and postdocs.
Job Requirements First year, sophomore, or junior undergraduate student with strong interest in neuroscience, biology, or medicine. Must possess strong communication skills and the ability to work independently. Preference for candidates who are able to work for the duration of summer 2017 (with increased hours).
