Support Asian / Pacific Islander American Studies

The Asian/Pacific Islander American Studies Program at U-M fosters innovative and socially-engaged research, teaching, and programming in the fields of Asian American and Pacific Islander studies.
In our courses and research opportunities, students have uncovered the histories of Asian American and Pacific Islander community resilience and advocacy, deepened our understanding of the legacies of racism that have impacted our communities, worked with local organizations to support efforts for social justice, and much more.

With your help, we can continue to build on our success and support our continued undergraduate and graduate research and learning.

Your Gifts at Work

"Being involved in A/PIA Studies and American Culture as a whole has made me realize that my identity is more than just a label, but a relationship with myself and my community that I can sustain with empowering coursework and action. As a student organizer on campus, having the background of A/PIA Studies has deeply strengthened my skills in cultural humility within communities, and my curiosity to learn about the socio-political forces that guide our everyday lives. I have cultivated meaningful relationships with students, staff, and faculty across disciplines within American Culture that I still think about today."

–Gina Liu, Class of 2023
