It is our great pleasure to announce that Lisa Young has received the Provost's 2015 Teaching Innovation Prize.

This prize honors original, specific innovations to improve student learning (such as  novel us?es of instructional technology, new ways to engage students in the learning process, new approaches to student collaboration, or new methods for replicating the advantages of a small course in a large lecture).

Lisa's innovative approach involved connecting students at UofM with the Hopi Nation through videoconferencing.  The students in her class worked with Hopi consultants? to learn more about items in the Hopi Ethnobotanical Collections stored here at the University of Michigan.?

?If you want to learn more, ?Lisa and other awardees will be sharing their innovations with the broader U-M community at Enriching Scholarship, and other campus-wide events.  We'll keep you posted.
