Amanda Logan has been awarded the 2013 Society for American Archaeology Dissertation Award for her 2012 thesis: A History of Food Without History: Food, Trade, and Environment in west-central Ghana in the Second Millennium AD.

"The SAA Dissertation Award recognizes a recently completed dissertation that exemplifies exceptional original research.  Submitted dissertations are evaluated and ranked by committee members on factors including originality of research and strengths and weaknesses of the dissertation."
