General Information

Initiated in 2006 and formalized in 2015, Arab and Muslim American Studies (AMAS) is housed within the Department of American Culture. We offer interdisciplinary undergraduate courses focusing on the Arab and Muslim American experience. Our studies serve as a focal point for University research and teaching on Arab and Muslim Americans, and our faculty provide resources for understanding Arab and Muslim American concerns and issues. We collaborate with the Arab American Student Association, Near Eastern Studies, and the Office of Multi-Ethnic Student Affairs on programming and outreach endeavors.
