The Department of American Culture is pleased to announce that we will be offering a minor in Arab and Muslim American Studies effective in Winter 2015.

The minor joins our other outstanding ethnic studies degree programs in Latina/o, Asian/Pacific Islander American, and Native American studies.  The Arab and Muslim American Studies Minor will provide students a coherent curriculum by which they can contemplate how the Arab region and its diasporas have become increasingly central to U.S. history, diplomacy, religion, and politics.  Over the past ten years, there has been increased national attention to both Arab and Muslim Americans and a scholarly renaissance in American studies. American Culture continues to be at the cutting edge of these transformations.
