We hope that this site will continue to serve as a point of contact for the Individualized Major Program community as our students go forth into the world. You can let current students see what they can do with an Individualized Major Program by posting an alumni profile.
If you are an IMP/ICP graduate and want to share your story, contact the program advisor and he will help you determine the best way to share your story on our website.
Giving to IMP
The current funding priorities of the Individualized Major Program all center around supporting our students' learning experience.
Through a generous gift from the George M. and Jennifer D. Stone family, we are able to offer a limited number of scholarships to students with financial need. The Stone family has also established a fund to support students on summer experiences such as internships, field research, service projects, and study abroad programs. Recent recipients for these funds have worked with homeless youth through the Ruth Ellis Center in Detroit; helped protect the human rights of refugees through the Mizan Law Group in Amman, Jordan; participated in the Global Intercultural Experience for Undergraduates in Viet Nam and Chile; and helped to install a water filtration system at a rural community center in Pantanal, Brazil.
However, more support is needed. Internships and field experiences have become an indispensable part of a well-rounded liberal arts education, allowing students to apply what they've learned in the classroom in real world settings. Our students’ creativity and passion to change the world should never be limited by financial concerns.
Please consider joining the Stone family in supporting these outstanding students!
