A.B./B.S.

The Bachelor of Arts (A.B.) and Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degrees will expose you to the humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences; allow for in-depth study of at least one “major” subject area; and will give you opportunities to explore other areas of interest.

Specific degree requirements for the A.B./B.S. degrees include:

  • Area Distribution Requirement credits (select from Humanities, Social Science, Natural Science, Math & Symbolic Analysis, Creative Expression, Interdisciplinary courses)
  • Major
  • First-Year Writing Requirement
  • Upper-Level Writing Requirement
  • Quantitative Reasoning Requirement
  • Race and Ethnicity Requirement
  • Language Requirement

The B.S. degree differs from the B.A. in requiring that 60 credits (out of the 120 total) be from the physical and natural sciences or mathematics.

There is also a B.S. Chemistry degree which has specific degree requirements that differ from the B.S. with a major in Chemical Sciences.
