The Cardinale Lab in the School of Natural Resources & Environment is looking for undergraduate research assistants to help with field and lab-based research that examines how biodiversity might increase the productivity and stability of algal biofuel systems.

Job Responsibilities:  Field research will be performed at UM’s E.S. George Reserve outside of Pinckney, MI. Lab-based work will be performed in Dana Hall on the Central Campus. Undergraduate assistants help set up and run experiments, collect data, process biological samples and enter data. Daily tasks will range from the mundane washing of glassware, to setting up cattle tanks at the George Reserve to simulate biofuel ponds, to collecting samples of algae & invertebrates, to identifying & counting species under a microscope, to entering data.
